From 1 October 2020, the New South Wales “border bubble” zone, which Tenterfield is already part of,  also includes Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley, and Glen Innes, and the Queensland “border bubble” zone no longer exists.

So what do theses changes mean for travellers?

  • QLD residents can travel anywhere in the NSW border zone for any purpose.
  • NSW border zone residents can travel anywhere in QLD for any purpose.
  • QLD and NSW residents that remain within the NSW border zone during their travels are not required to quarantine upon entry/re-entry to QLD.

A Border Declaration Pass will still need to be completed prior to entering QLD. For more info & to apply for a QLD Border Declaration Pass, click here.

Getting here…

Tenterfield is an easy 3.5 hour drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with good road access via the New England Hwy & Bruxner Hwy.

There are also plenty of opportunities to get off the beaten rack and enjoy the scenic route, such as Mt Lindesay Rd, which is a continuation of  Mt Lindesay Hwy via Summerland Way.

Pretty please…

If you have any flu-like symptoms, please do not visit our region, as you may put our community at risk.

It’s also important for us all to adhere to NSW Health advice regarding physical distancing and hygiene.
